1. What is MA Yojana?
Commisionerate of Health, Government of Gujarat has launched a tertiary health coverage scheme for BPL families which is called Mukhyamantri Amrutum (MA) Yojana.
2. Who is eligible?
The beneficiary is any Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, whose information is included
in the district BPL list prepared by the State government rural development department
and urban development department. The eligible family needs to come to the enrollment
station, and the identity of the household head needs to be confirmed by the authorized
official.
3. How much medical coverage is provided under MA Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Amrutum Yojana provides tertiary medical coverage upto Rs. 2 00,000/-
for a family of five on a floater basis. Transportation charges are also covered
upto a maximum of Rs. 3,000/- with Rs. 300/- per visit
4. Will beneficiary have to pay anything to get the medical coverage?
Beneficiaries need not have to pay any amount at the time of enrollment.
5. What is the time period for the enrollment and the policy period for the beneficiaries?
In the case of new medical coverage, the coverage shall commence operation from
the day on which the MA Card is issued. Thus, for example, if the initial MA cards
are issued on 1th of April 2012 the coverage will start from 1th of April 2012 itself.
The coverage will last till subsequent financial year till 31st of March 2013. However,
in the same example, if the card is issued in the month of June 2012, August 2012,
September 2012 or February 2013 then the coverage will be over on 31st of March
2013. Thus all the MA cards issued in the financial year 2012-2013 will have terminal
date as 31st of March 2013.
